Conference 2026: 5 years after the flood

July 2–3, 2026, Remagen University of Applied Sciences, optional excursions on July 4.

Find the programme here.

Five years after the flood disaster in July 2021, it is time for a critical review of disaster research in German-speaking countries: What insights have been gained from the scientific analysis of the flood, and what questions remain unanswered? Which regions and topics have been well researched, and which have been neglected? How can the (ecological, social, and institutional) transformations accelerated by the flood be recorded and sustainably shaped in certain regions? And what role does disaster research play in a time of multiple crises?

Our conference is fully booked, but we can offer an online participation for the largest panels/presentations. You can register for the webinars here.
